Last LLM coding update before richstone.io shutdown and next Rails.Builders cohort 5-6

In the last post, I suggested a couple of options for shutting down and archiving your blog. I chose to archive it on Vercel for now. If you or I ever need to look something up from it, it will be here:

RichStone Input Output
Building products, coaching, and sharing insights along the way. With Ruby on Rails and other friends.

Pro tip: don’t read the AI stuff to carefully, my workflow changed and improved immensely in the last two weeks, and it might be different in the next few weeks, things are moving fast. It feels like I work completely differently, new tools, new flows, less hackery. The core principles are the same:

  1. Create a worktree.
  2. Let Claude Code create the plan (just inside Claude code no more separate PLAN.md).
  3. Tell it to improve the plan until good.
  4. Pass the plan to a new Claude Code instance (if it's a bigger task).
  5. Verify and iterate on the implementation.
  6. Test manually.
  7. Iterate.

Conductor makes all of this seamless. I barely use the IDE anymore, and I’ve canceled my 8-year old JetBrains (RubyMine) subscription. JetBrains will lose the battle if they don’t adapt to the IDE-less era, making worktrees and parallel workflows a breeze. The RubyMine team promised me “basic worktree support” at the start of this year, whatever that means. So there is still a chance I resubscribe if JetBrains becomes more of an LLM-agent Conductor in some way. I don’t think much is missing. Go JetBrains!

Next week is the last session of this Rails.Builders cohort. While I planned to spend some time in analysis paralysis thinking about how to improve the next cohorts and focus on AI, API, and integration projects at ClickFunnels, Pascal Laliberté, one of the Rails Builders OGs, stepped up and offered to kickstart the next groups! 🚀

The format isn’t final yet, but most probably, there will be two bi-weekly groups of Rails Builders who will hustle out the next phase of their side projects together, talking tech and business for about 3 months. Please ping Pascal to join the next Builders cohorts if you feel like you need an extra pinch of accountability, community, building in public and learning.

As mentioned before, the ghost of richstone.io will continue to live in one way or another over at Funnels on Rails and the socials (Reddit, X, LinkedIn - @RichStoneIO).
